GM Korea's temporary workers who won the illegal dispatch lawsuit went to work nine years and nine months after the lawsuit.
The Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Metal Workers' Union said it held an event to celebrate 57 members' commute to work in front of the main gate of GM Korea's Changwon plant at 7:30 a.m. today (1st).
Bae Sung-do, chairman of the emergency committee of GM Korea's Changwon Non-regular Workers' Branch, said, "I'm grateful to the members for holding out for a long time together."
Workers from partner companies that worked at GM Korea's Changwon plant have filed a lawsuit since 2015 with the intention that the company directly hires them, claiming that GM Korea used them as illegal dispatch.
The Supreme Court upheld the plaintiff's ruling in July, acknowledging GM Korea's illegal dispatch.
