Germany, from today, decide on your own gender...15,000 people a month.

In Germany, the "Gender Self-determination Act" has come into effect, allowing people to register by changing their gender on their own without court permission.

The German government enacted the law in April after it pointed out that existing gender transition laws, which require doctors' psychological evaluations and court decisions, violate LGBTQ human rights.

However, there are also concerns that sex crimes will be abused or gender controversies will become more frequent.

According to German media, 15,000 applications for gender changes were received in advance prior to the enforcement of the law in August alone.

The German government received applications three months before the law went into effect for a period of deliberation to prevent hasty decisions.

Germany became the 17th country to leave gender decisions to self-determination.

The new law allows a change of gender by simply reporting one of the male, female, diverse and indefinite articles to the registry office.

Accordingly, you can register as having multiple genders or delete existing genders regardless of whether you have undergone gender reassignment surgery.

However, some point out that the new system to protect the human rights of sexual minorities threatens the safety of women and teenagers."There is no mechanism to prevent abuse by sex offenders and perpetrators of violence," UN Special Rapporteur Lim Al-Salem
said in a letter to the German government, warning that violence could become more severe in gender-separated spaces such as prisons, changing rooms and toilets.

There are also concerns that participating in sports competitions could happen by changing to a gender that is advantageous for performing well.
