Apple Invests 2 Trillion Won In Satellite Communications...Acquisition of image editing app companies

iPhone manufacturer Apple is strengthening its device service by injecting large amounts of money into satellite telecommunication companies and acquiring image editing app developers.

Globalstar, a U.S. satellite communication operator, said Apple has decided to invest 1.5 billion dollars and 2 trillion won in the company.

Globalstar is a satellite communications operator that operates low-Earth orbit communications satellites for satellite phones and low-speed data communications in the United States.

Since 2022, Apple has partnered with Global Star to provide iPhone users with the ability to send emergency messages even in remote areas where iPhones do not explode.

The partnership will see Apple buy a 20% stake in Global Star for $400 million and invest $1.1 billion in cash.

Meanwhile, image editing app developer Pixelmator says Apple is taking over Pixelmator, and its team will join Apple.Based in Lithuania,

PixelMatter has been developing an image editing app that can be used exclusively on MacBooks with iPhones.
