At least 31 people were killed when Israeli forces launched intense airstrikes around northern Gaza on the 3rd local time, Reuters reported, citing local medical staff.
About half of the deaths, or 13 people, came from northern Gaza, including Beitrahiya and Zabalia.
"The Israeli military offensive is concentrated in Zabalia, where the refugee camp is located," Reuters said, adding that the Israeli military may intend to drive refugees out of the area and create a buffer zone.
Kamaladwan Hospital near Beitrahiya was shelled by Israeli tanks, seriously injuring a child who was hospitalized, the hospital said.
Eight people, including four children, were killed in Kanyunis, southern Gaza, and deaths were reported in Gaza City and other cities.
