Medical school professors reiterated that the number of medical schools recruited for next year should be readjusted with nine days left before the 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test.
The National Council of Professors of Medical Universities and the National Emergency Response Committee of Professors of Medical Universities announced an emergency survey of medical professors nationwide from the 1st to yesterday.
According to the survey, 3,365 out of 3,486 respondents and 96.3% said next year's medical school recruitment should be frozen or reduced to its existing capacity.
He warned that if the increase in medical school is enforced, there will be an unprecedented situation in which 7,600 first-year medical students will have to take classes together next year.
In addition, it is said that the first year of the preparatory department is okay because it is mainly for liberal arts subjects, but I was worried that I would not be able to receive education and training properly for the next 10 years even after the preparatory department.
The professors added that readjusting the number of medical school recruits next year is the way to break through the current medical education crisis and return students to school.
