The Korean and U.S. governments recently signed an agreement to establish a communication system regarding the export of nuclear power plants.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said the final signing of the agreement is expected to bring the two countries' cooperation in exporting nuclear power plants close to each other in the global market.

In particular, the agreement came as Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. and Westinghouse are discussing ways to resolve intellectual property disputes over the export of Czech nuclear power plants.

In response, the Ministry of Industry said that it will be able to have more expectations to resolve the problem in terms of creating an atmosphere and conditions for cooperation between governments.

Industry watchers say KHNP is seeking a compromise by entrusting Westinghouse with the main task of building the Czech nuclear power plant and distributing the economic benefits of the order.

In response, the Ministry of Industry said that there is a sense of crisis that the market could be missed due to disputes between companies at a time when the nuclear power plant market is starting to revive, and that the perception that close cooperation at the big picture is important will also work for cooperation between companies.
