"Anti-cancer effect"...Sales of unauthorized cell therapy worth 11.1 billion won

The Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office has put the company's representatives and other officials on trial for selling 11.1 billion won worth of unauthorized cell therapy.

Four people, including 51-year-old CEO A, are accused of selling cell therapy worth 11.1 billion won, which was not approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, 675 times from November 2021 to April this year.

They are also accused of dumping 2,672 liters of plasma culture, a medical waste that is at high risk of spreading infectious diseases, into the sink without permission.

Maeng Kyung-jae, former head of the Chungbuk Free Economic Zone Authority, was also put on trial for receiving 50 million won worth of free procedures and helping these companies be selected as participants in the global special zone.
