Yes, the Coast Guard has begun a night search for 12 missing crew members of the Geumseong ship that sank off Jeju Island.
The Coast Guard deployed more than 50 ships and five aircraft, including navy and civilian fishing boats, to the area of the accident.
We have also prepared 230 lighting bombs to light up the dark night sky.
The 129-ton Venus sank around 4:30 a.m. this morning in waters 24 kilometers northwest of Biyangdo Island, Jeju Island.Shortly after the
accident, a fishing boat on the front of the Venus ship came to the rescue and rescued 15 crew members.
Among them, two South Korean sailors were taken to the hospital but died.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Coast Guard against rescued sailors.
The crew reportedly told the Coast Guard that the ship flipped to the right in an instant while moving the meat to the first carrier and waiting for the second carrier.
The Coast Guard conducted four underwater searches, including two divers at around 1 p.m. to find the missing.
However, the fishing net and the hull are connected and the depth is deep from 80 to 90 meters, making the search difficult.
The Coast Guard and shipping company will deploy salvage ships and crane barges to salvage the Venus.
It is scheduled to arrive at the accident area around 2 p.m. tomorrow.
Jeju Island and the Coast Guard have opened an on-site office at Hallim Port and are providing one-on-one support to the families and bereaved families of missing persons.
President Yoon Suk Yeol also issued an emergency order to do his best to search and rescue lives by mobilizing all available resources.
