Bitcoin, a cryptocurrency market leader that continues its highest-priced march after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's presidential victory, surpassed $80,000 for the first time in history.
Bloomberg reported that the price of each bitcoin was traded at $8092 around 9 p.m. in Korean time.
This is the first time Bitcoin has crossed the $80,000 mark.
Bitcoin surpassed $75,000 on the day of the U.S. presidential election, breaking its all-time high in more than seven months, and rising to $77,000 on the 8th.
In anticipation of former President Trump's "friendly virtual currency" policy, funds seem to continue to flow into bitcoin as well as related exchange-traded funds and ETFs.
