Ulsan City and Hyundai Motor Company have signed an "agreement on cooperation in building a hydrogen ecosystem" and have decided to work together to create a hydrogen-friendly city.
Under the agreement, the two agencies will expand their businesses in the public sector related to the establishment of an integrated hydrogen supply chain, including hydrogen production and supply, development of hydrogen-electric vehicles and utilization of fuel cell systems.
In addition, we plan to demonstrate and commercialize technology development for clean hydrogen production such as water electrolysis, and develop and distribute new transportation methods such as hydrogen tractors and hydrogen forklifts.
With the signing of this agreement, Ulsan City plans to become a leading city with a hydrogen industry ecosystem ranging from 'hydrogen production-storage-distribution-utilization'.
Lee Dong-seok, CEO of Hyundai Motor, said, "With this agreement, we will seek continuous cooperation so that Ulsan can become the center of a hydrogen-friendly city."
Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom said, "We will cooperate with Hyundai Motor to make Ulsan a 'leading city for clean hydrogen energy' and lead the successful transformation of the eco-friendly future transportation industry."
