There is a lot of tension in the court ahead of the first trial of Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea.

Rallies attended by thousands of people are scheduled around the court before and after the sentence, and the court and the police are going all out in case of an emergency.

Reporter Kim Chul-hee reports.

On the day of the first trial of Lee Jae-myung's Public Official Election Act, a large-scale rally was announced around the court.

Following the declaration of a rally involving 5,000 people by a group supporting the representative,
The
conservative group also announced that a thousand people would attend the rally to denounce representative Lee.

When large crowds were expected, the court established a "maintenance of order plan" and organized a special security management team for the building.

The plan is to deploy a larger number of security personnel than usual, not only inside the courtroom and the passage, but also on each movement that representative Lee will travel to and from.

Court officials have increased security in other critical trials, but

I explained that we are going to put in more than this this time.

It is known that court security personnel will also be used to guard the three judges on their way home from work to prepare for any emergency after the sentence.

In addition, the sentencing court has also moved to a 100-seat heavy court, not a 30-seat small court where the existing trial was conducted.

At the time of sentencing, there are no scheduled trials in other courts around the middle court, so security checks for audience members are expected to be conducted more thoroughly.

While the live broadcast was canceled, 36 ordinary people selected through a lottery will watch the first trial in court.

Apart from this, the police also plan to focus on securing safety inside and outside the court.More experience than usual is expected to be observed throughout Seocho-dong in preparation for emergency situations, such as protesters storming into the court excited by the result of the

sentence or participants in the pros and cons rally clashing with each other.
