Ruling Party "Cutting the Prosecution's Budget, Because of the Lee Jae-myung Investigation"... Attorney General "Such Doubts"

2024.11.13 PM 04:29
Justice Minister Park Sung-jae said he has no choice but to make such doubts as to whether the National Assembly's cut of the entire budget for special activities by the prosecution is related to the investigation of Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea.

Minister Park attended the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts and responded to the public's question, "Jeong Cheong-rae, chairman of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, focused on the use of four branch offices related to the representative Lee's investigation while cutting the prosecution's budget."

Minister Park explained that it is not easy to say that the reduction of special activity costs is related to the representative Lee's investigation, but from the extension of the opposition's continuous demand for the impeachment of the prosecutor, such doubts are inevitable.

Earlier on the 8th, the Judiciary Committee decided on next year's budget plan, which calls for a full reduction of the prosecution's special activity expenses, led by the opposition party.
