U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken has warned that he will sternly respond to North Korean troops' participation in the fighting.
"North Korean troops have been put into battle and are literally in battle right now," Blinken told reporters at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, adding, "This calls for a decisive response and will do so."
"We are increasingly confirming that the security of the Atlantic Ocean, the Indo-Pacific, and the Middle East cannot be separated from each other," Blinken said.
"We can confirm that more than 10,000 North Korean soldiers have been sent to eastern Russia, and most of them have moved to Kursk province and started engaging in combat operations with Russian forces," Vedant Patel, a deputy U.S. State Department spokesman, said earlier in a briefing.
In this regard, Russia did not mention the North Korean military's participation in the war, even though the special military operation in Ukraine is being carried out quickly.
According to Russian media, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov only explained at a briefing that "the development of special military operations is continuing very quickly and abruptly."
