Sayuri, who raises her child bravely alone without getting married, is receiving a lot of support from viewers.

According to a recent survey of our people by the National Statistical Office, 34.7% said they can have children without getting married.

In particular, 42.8% of people in their 20s agreed that they can have children without getting married.

Two out of five, nearly 13%p in 10 years. (12.5%p)

[JEONG DEN / Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province: Even if you're a single family, I think it's possible if you have a sense of responsibility and financial support]

In fact, unmarried births are on the rise.

Of the 230,000 babies born last year, non-marriage births accounted for 4.7% or 19,900, or one in 20.

Maximum since statistics were created.

The total number of births is only 230,000, which is in contrast to the lowest ever drop.

Only 39.7% of people in their 20s said that marriage is a must.

It's down nearly 12%p (11.5%) from a decade ago.

The biggest reason for this change in perception is the economic reason.

As a result of asking the people why they don't marry, economic problems topped the list, approaching 60%.

Economic problems topped the list even when asked why they did not report their marriage to unmarried couples.

[Lee Sang-rim / Senior Researcher at Seoul National University's Population Policy Research Center (Korea-China Population Forum in September) : It's not that young people will not get married now, but that they choose a life that they can or won't get married in a situation where it's hard to get married.]

We need to lower the social competition pressure of young people and create an environment in which children can grow well regardless of their family type.
