Actor Kim Tae-ri expressed her gratitude through a question-and-answer session to mark the end of "Jungnyeon."

tvN's Saturday-Sunday drama "Jungnyeoni," which received great love from the first broadcast and exploded in ratings and popularity, is set after the Korean War in the 1950s and depicts competition, solidarity, and brilliant growth over the natural sound genius Lee Young-soo, who challenges the best national drama actor.

In the play, Kim Tae-ri performed a passionate performance by breaking down to the retirement age who came to Seoul from Mokpo to become a Gukgeuk actor. Kim Tae-ri, who portrayed the growth process of Ko Min-yong, who runs toward Gukgeuk actors by speaking not only sound but also choreography and dialect, was praised as "irreplaceable" and received favorable reviews from viewers as well as critics.

In response, Kim Tae-ri released a question-and-answer interview to thank viewers and fans for leaving the work after the end of the 17th.

Q. How do you feel about the end of the drama "Jungnyeon"?

A. The burden of all actors sound and stage acting, four big stages, and until the period setting of the fifties. It was an almost impossible challenge, and such a miraculous drama was loved by many viewers in a short period of time like a miracle. First of all, I would like to thank the viewers, and I would like to thank all the actors who took the courage to make this drama and made a miracle.

Q. If you could express one word of how you felt when you first encountered the drama "Jungnyeon"? Why?

A. I just thought, 'It's going to be fun.' There was no anxiety about taking on a big challenge. I immediately started practicing the sound and it was more fun and more enjoyable than I expected. I thought it would be nice if many people could know and enjoy this fun and enjoyable thing through the drama.

Q. When I think of the character 'Jeongnyeon', by far, sound, choreography, and dialect come to mind first. What kind of effort did each of them make? What else did you focus on to embody the character?

A. Teachers in each field worked really hard. I started from the basics in every field. Pretending to be good was not my goal, so I asked for a skill that could look like that only if I tried until the end but couldn't.

From the first class of 2021, I exchanged sounds with Kwon Song-hee. I also received several classes from my teacher (Kim Soo-yeon, Myung-chang), but Kwon Song-hee sat next to me on her knees and cheered me on with the feeling of a parent. The day before God's recording, I rented a practice room and didn't drink a sip of water and shouted together for hours and hours to scratch my throat. I really liked the messages of support from the teacher during the tired days. We respected each other and we were together like that.

The teamwork with Lee Seul was also very good. The teacher was a person who pulled out good things even in mistakes and tried to find movements that fit my body. He worked so hard to make everything that the actor wanted to do even at dawn when he returned from filming in the countryside. When I was preparing for the last performance, I remember the teacher saying that all the actors of the Maeran Gukgeuk Company now really felt like disciples.

Actor Jung Soo-jung from Mokpo taught me the dialect from the pre-stage to all filming dates and late ADR (post-recording). Thanks to this, I think I got to know so many lines that I didn't know all the lines beforehand and started filming. With actor Oh Kyung-hwa (played by Yoon Jeong-ja) from Gwangju, the three of them put their heads together so that they could feel the taste of the dialect line by line and word, and also save the character's personality. He said let's save the times rather than just a good dialect, and these days, people have persuaded the director to put in words and sentences that are difficult to understand.

Q. I think the subject of women's gukgeuk would have been unfamiliar to the public living in the present. What is the charm of the female gukgeuk that actress Kim Tae-ri is fascinated by?

A. The world of women's gukgeuk in the original was exciting. A play made with our sounds, a heyday that was so short despite its immense popularity, stories that come down like legends... In addition, I felt that the context of the birth of women's Gukgeuk and its history were valuable, and I was very curious about the charm beyond the defined gender when a woman played a male role.

Q. What is actor Kim Tae-ri's famous scene and famous line in the drama "Jungnyeoni"?

A. I'd like to pick a scene where my mother Gongseon (played by Moon So-ri) sings "Chae Pass Manjeong" on the beach where the sun rises and turns red after dawn. I think that the conflict between mother and daughter has been completely washed away, and that all public good is a god who has melted into one many worlds with the mind of the retirement age. The sound is Han and I think it was the roughest but most beautiful sound of our drama.

Q. Among the many actors who made dramas and national dramas together, the actors who filmed many scenes were Shin Ye-eun, Jung Eun-chae, and Udavi. How was it working with them?

A. As the atmosphere of the scene shown in the making suggests, I had good chemistry with all the actors. Juran (Udabi) was so important to retirement, and Darby leaned on me a lot and talked to each other a lot. Throughout all the filming, Juran had a lovely face and told me with his eyes that he was always on the retirement age side. The same goes for Darby. I worked with all the actors for the first time except for one or two, and I met Eun Chae for the first time. In the case of

dramas, Eun Chae was different when she slowly wore her character's clothes. He was a prince from the beginning and he was a prince from the end. It really helped me to immerse myself in the role and situation in the play. I really thought it was eye-opening throughout the shoot.

I think Yeeun was really into it. He said the target was too far away and he couldn't see it, so when he collapsed at the end of practice, he always overcame it and came out to the next practice. I think self-objectification is important for actors, but Ye-eun seemed to fight with herself every second of every minute. Then he could lean on others, but he was a friend who fought and overcame himself. Needless to say, it was a good chemistry and I think Yeeun created a really cool English book.

In addition, it was good to be with all the friends of the Maeran Gukgeuk Company who shared the same class in the practice room. When we made eye contact, I remember always laughing, joking, cheering, and then hugging each other fiercely and whispering that we did a good job. Seunghee, who plays the role of Green, also conveyed her maximum emotions to me even when it wasn't time to film mine. I want to say again that all the actors, thank you for your hard work and you did a great job.

Q. How was your relationship with actors Moon So-ri and Oh Kyung-hwa as a family?

A. You two really felt like your hometown. I waited looking forward to the day when we were acting together again every day after we had our first shoot together and broke up. When I occasionally met him while filming like that, I poured out a lot of what had happened and my current concerns and got stroked. You two were my peace of mind. It gave me a lot of strength. In the case of Kyunghwa, she is a friend who really has no choice but to love. I think I got a reliable and shining friend who will be with me on the way to walk with my job as an actor.

Q. What is the most memorable reaction from your family, close acquaintances, or viewers while watching the drama?

A. I heard my grandmother couldn't watch the drama "The Devil" because she was scared. While preparing for "Jungnyeon", I was even more excited when I thought my grandmother would be able to enjoy it easily. Not only my family but also people around me sang this song here and there. I think that's why everyone enjoyed watching it. "Should we go and sing Taeri's song? Buda is coming out." Among the viewers' reactions, "I like the sound..." or "I don't know why I'm crying while listening to the sound."

Q. Growth seems to be the word that penetrates the drama "Jungnyeoni". What kind of growth did actor Kim Tae-ri grow by meeting the drama "Jungnyeon" and the character "Jungnyeon"?

A. Even if I was proud to have poured out everything I could out, I felt regret every week that there was something I could do a little more on one side of my mind. Melting more than 100 original webtoons into 12 parts was a challenge for everyone and I had to draw a stepping stone to convince the next scene every time in such an implied narrative. As a result, it has reached its current retirement age. During the drama, I often thought that I should have gone beyond all that logic and acted in the direction of keeping my loveliness as the main character. I haven't found any specific answers, but I just think this way. "I made this choice and there was such a possibility." I think it's enough growth even if there's no answer.

Q. What do you want to say to Jungnyeon?

A. Retirement age. How big have you grown beyond those stormy days. Thanks to you, I think I found out that what matters more than talent and hard work is the heart. It was an honor to play you!

Q. Lastly, a word to the viewers who loved the dramas "Jungnyeon" and "Jungnyeon".

A. Thank you for staying with us until the end. Let's meet again next time with another story. Thank you so much to the viewers!
