Smoke begins to rise above the two-story building and gradually spreads to the side.

Fire trucks and ambulances come in one after another, and firefighters rush to the place where the fire broke out.

A fire broke out in a two-story house in Yeongi-myeon, Sejong City.

[Fire Witness: There was smoke and all the fire was under control. And it wasn't like the fireworks were burning. It's a full smoke coming out of the inside....]

A couple in their 60s who were inside the house were found dead in the fire.

All of them were found to have been burned to the entire body and died, but fire authorities believe they have not been able to evacuate due to inhaling toxic gases generated with the fire.

Furniture tools are scattered at the entrance to the building where the fire broke out. The acrid smell is vibrating around.

The inspection confirmed that the kitchen gas valve was open at the time of the fire.

Fire authorities believe the fire started in the kitchen, where many parts were burned, and are trying to determine the exact cause of the fire based on the reporter's statement that there was a bang.

We are also looking at whether heating and heat transfer equipment have affected the fire.

Experts say even small embers from heating appliances can lead to a fire if the gas is full.

[Park Chan-seok/Professor of fire administration at Seowon University: If gas leaks out for a long time, it can lead to an explosion fire that can lead to a gas explosion when there is an ignition source from the outside..]

Winter when ventilation is reduced and heating demand is increasing.

As small embers can lead to large fires, special attention is needed to manage embers.
