The list of high-value and habitual delinquents who have not paid more than 10 million won for more than a year each for local taxes and local administrative sanctions has been released.
The Ministry of Public Administration and Security revealed the list of 12,274 people, including 9,999 local tax delinquents and 1,175 local administrative sanctions and fines, up 5.6% from last year.
The highest amount of arrears was 47-year-old Kim, who lives in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, who did not pay 10.657 billion won in local income tax.
Until the middle of last month, Myung Tae-kyun, a political broker who was on the list of delinquents because he did not pay 25 million won in local income tax, was not included this time, but it is estimated that he was excluded as he recently paid back taxes.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to entrust the Korea Customs Service to request seizure and public sale of overseas imports of local tax delinquents, and to strictly respond to high-value and habitual delinquents by prohibiting departure and detaining delinquents for a certain period of time.
