Amid the constant noise surrounding the appointment of U.S. President-elect Trump's Cabinet, Education Secretary-designate Linda McMahon has also been embroiled in allegations that she has tolerated sex abuse in the U.S. professional wrestling community in the past.

The Washington Post (WP) reported that Linda, who co-founded World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) with her husband Vince, was sued by former employees last month.

It was five people who filed the lawsuit decades ago who worked as ring boys as teenagers.

They claim that the McMahons knew they were being sexually abused by high-level WWE staff, but did not do enough to protect them.

Separately, her husband, Vince McMahon, is also under investigation for sexual abuse and human trafficking.

Vince was accused of sexual harassment by a woman who worked for WWE earlier this year.

Vince was also embroiled in a sex scandal back in 2022 and was controversial at the time as he allegedly paid to keep his mouth shut.

The McMahons, who founded WWE in 1980 by incorporating entertainment elements into professional wrestling, are longtime Trump aides.
