Busan City has decided to tear down Sajik Baseball Stadium and build a new 20,000-seat ballpark on the spot.

For three years from 2028, the construction period, professional baseball games will be held at Asiad Main Stadium, and the new ballpark will debut to citizens in 2031.

It is Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan, which was completed in 1985 and has been a professional baseball game since 1986.

At the time of its opening, it was the largest in Korea and the latest, but nearly 40 years later, everywhere is old and it has been pointed out that a new stadium is needed for a few years.

The Busan Metropolitan Government has confirmed a reconstruction plan to build an open baseball stadium with 20,000 seats instead of a dome.

Unlike in the 1980s, the ground was made lower than the present by reflecting the dense environment of apartments around it, minimizing noise and light pollution,
The plan is to secure evolutionary seats for the
family and various experiences and educational spaces to enjoy during the off-season.

The city and Lotte pay an estimated 300 billion won in construction costs at a 7-3 ratio, and some of the budget is being secured by state funds.

City plans to enter a design contest next year and complete the construction by 2030.

If the reconstruction proceeds as planned by Busan City, Busan baseball fans and Lotte Giants will celebrate the new season at the new stadium from 2031.

For three years from 2028, when demolition and construction are underway, professional baseball will be held at Asiad Main Stadium next to Sajik Baseball Stadium.
