An appeals court hearing will be held today (25th) at the Seoul High Court on charges of unfair merger and accounting fraud by Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong .

The final hearing is a process that concludes the court hearing, and the prosecution's sentence and the defendant's final statement are made.

Earlier, Chairman Lee was indicted on charges of involvement in various fraudulent transactions, market manipulation, and accounting fraud promoted by the Future Strategy Office with the aim of inheriting management control and strengthening control at a minimum cost during the merger process.

At 2 p.m. today, the Seoul High Court will hold an appeals court hearing for Cha, Lee Kyu-won, spokesman of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, and Lee Kwang-chul, former presidential secretary for civil affairs, who were indicted on charges of abuse of authority and obstruction of exercise of rights.

Rep. Cha and others were put on trial in March 2019 on charges of engaging in illegal prohibition of departure when former Vice Minister Kim attempted to leave the country.
