Trump's "Review of Biden Administration's Semiconductor Act Subsidies"

2024.11.27 AM 05:00
U.S. President-elect Trump has said the Biden administration could review subsidies it is paying companies to foster semiconductors and clean energy industries in the U.S.

In a post to X, Vivek Ramaswamy criticized the Biden administration for speeding up spending to pay semiconductor aid before Trump's takeover of the regime.

Ramaswamy, a former businessman who ran for the Republican presidential nomination, will lead the "Government Efficiency Department" with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in the Trump administration, which will be launched on January 20 next year.

Earlier, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Lemondo told Politico that Trump is trying to pay as much as possible semiconductor law aid as he promised to companies before taking office on Jan. 20 next year.

The Semiconductor Act provides subsidies to companies that invest in factories and others by the U.S. Department of Commerce to encourage semiconductor production in the U.S., but Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron have yet to receive subsidies.
