Yes, Yonsei University issued a statement today (27th) at around 2 p.m. titled "Decision to Conduct Additional Tests for Nature-based Essay Screening for Occasional Recruitment".
First of all, he said he humbly accepts the criticism that he did not follow up quickly after the controversy over the leakage of essays, and apologizes to the test takers and their parents.
After the essay test, an emergency committee was formed to understand how the situation occurred, problems, and ripple effects, he said, adding that he has been proceeding with the judgment by the court as protecting the interests of most test takers.
However, he said that it became difficult to get a court ruling within a short period of time, and that he decided to implement an additional test, or a second test.
The second test is planned to be held on the 8th of next month, and the subjects are all test takers who have taken the first test except for those who are absent.
Yonsei University will select 261 successful applicants as scheduled in the first test held on October 12, and will also select 261 successful applicants in the second test.
The announcement of successful applicants for the first test will be announced on December 13 as originally scheduled, and the announcement of successful applicants for the second test will be announced before December 26, when the occasional recruitment closes.
In addition, he emphasized that regardless of whether you pass the 1st or 2nd exam, you will be selected as a successful candidate for Yonsei University's essay examination this year.
In other words, the maximum number of successful applicants will double than expected.
The Ministry of Education said it will take strict measures against Yonsei University, which caused confusion in entrance exams, depending on the results of future investigations.
In addition, Yonsei University's additional recruitment following the second test is due to university negligence, adding that it is possible to order a reduction in the number of recruits in the future.
