As of 10 p.m. last night (27th), the Gyeonggi provincial government announced that it has upgraded the emergency response stage of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters from 2nd to 3rd.
It is the first time in 12 years that the third phase of emergency response has been operated due to heavy snow since 2012, and more than 1,300 people have been put into responding to the situation in 31 cities and counties.
Gyeonggi Province has mobilized more than 2,000 vehicles and 17,000 people to remove snow overnight, but vehicles are currently unable to move properly on roads in southern Gyeonggi Province due to heavy snow.
In Gyeonggi-do, heavy snow warnings are in place in 20 cities and counties, and heavy snow warnings are in place in the remaining 11 cities and counties.
