The Ministry of National Defense said that South Korea and the U.S. will hold the first NCG exercise in Washington, D.C., along with the 4th Korea-U.S. Nuclear Consultative Group and the NCG Conference, for two days from the 4th of next month.
The meeting will examine progress in NCG's tasks, including security and information sharing procedures, nuclear consultations and strategic communication in case of crisis and emergency, and nuclear and conventional integration exercises after the completion of the "Korea-U.S. Korean Peninsula Nuclear Suppression and Nuclear Operations Guidelines."
The Ministry of National Defense explained that the military will discuss the Korean Peninsula crisis and nuclear and strategic planning so that the alliance can make deeper, more cooperative and coordinated policy decisions.
The meeting and the iconography exercise will be co-organized by Cho Chang-rae, head of the Defense Policy Office at the Pentagon, and Abercrombie, acting undersecretary of policy at the Pentagon.
