Consumer Agency "Detecting harmful substances such as nickel in 87.5% of Moon Credit Dyes"

Hazardous substances have been detected in many dye products used in semi-permanent makeup and scalp tattoos.

According to a survey of the safety of 24 Moon Credit Dyes sold online by the Korea Consumer Agency, 21 products, more than 87 percent, found harmful substances exceeding domestic and international safety standards.

In particular, nickel, which was designated as a substance capable of human cancer by the International Cancer Institute under the World Health Organization, was detected in most of the "semi-permanent makeup dyes" and "permanent culture dyes" such as eyebrows and lips.

In addition, zinc and copper, which can cause headaches and dermatitis, or detect first-class carcinogens such as benzo-a-pyrene in the scalp moon credit dye, exceeded the standard.

Subsequently, 8 out of 24 products were found to have skin irritants such as BIT and MIT that exceeded the European Union standard.

The Korea Consumer Agency recommended businesses that import or manufacture these products to correct them, such as suspending sales.

In addition, as Moon Shin-yong dyes are used directly in the dermis of the skin, we will ask the Ministry of Environment to strengthen safety standards, such as expanding harmful substances with limited content.
