Yang Kwang-joon, a 38-year-old active-duty army officer who damaged and abandoned his body after killing a fellow female military officer, has been put on trial in custody.

The Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office arrested and charged Yang with murder, body damage, and body concealment.

Yang, who is scheduled to be promoted to lieutenant colonel from the Korea Military Academy, is accused of killing a 33-year-old civilian A who worked with him while working in the same unit on the 25th of last month, damaging the body, and abandoning it.
