Gyeonggi Provincial Council pushes for ordinance to support 'idol trainees'...It's the second time after Seoul.

2024.11.29 AM 10:28
The Gyeonggi Provincial Council has announced legislation of the "Ordinance to Protect and Support the Rights and Rights of Youth Culture Artists" proposed by Oh Ji-hoon (Democratic Party of Korea, Hanam 3) of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee.

The ordinance was designed to protect the rights and interests of aspiring cultural artists who go through an unstable period of "training" to grow into popular culture artists.

The applicants include youth cultural artists, trainees, and dropouts, and the provincial government conducts surveys and support projects.

The ordinance also included the governor's responsibility to protect basic rights and interests such as the right to physical and mental health, the right to learn, the right to personalize, the right to freedom, the right to sleep, and the right to rest.

Among the regional councils nationwide, the Seoul Metropolitan Council has enacted and implemented similar ordinances in January this year.

The ordinance bill will be deliberated at a regular meeting of the provincial council until the 19th of next month.
