National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik urged the ruling and opposition parties to agree on next year's budget by the 10th, the last day of the regular parliamentary session.
Chairman Woo held an emergency press conference and said, "We have decided not to present the budget bill to the plenary session of the National Assembly today."
He then pointed out that the National Assembly is responsible for stabilizing the economy of people's livelihoods and making a budget plan that the vulnerable will hope for, and that it is as heavy a responsibility as keeping the legal deadline.
At the same time, he stressed that the opposition party as the majority party and the ruling party as the ruling party are polite to the people, and that he expects and requests the best efforts to reach an agreement.
Earlier, the Democratic Party of Korea passed next year's budget bill, which only reflected the reduction without an increase, by the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, and demanded an apology and withdrawal, saying that the power of the people is a snatching budget.
