Trump lashes out at Biden's second son's pardon for "abuse of jurisdiction"

2024.12.02 PM 12:44
U.S. President Joe Biden, who is about to leave office, pardoned his son Hunter Biden for illegal possession of a firearm and tax evasion, calling it an "abuse of jurisdiction."

In a post on Truth Social shortly after the announcement of the pardon on the 1st local time, Trump criticized the pardon, saying, "Does the pardon given to Hunter include the 'January 6 hostages' who have been imprisoned for years?"

Trump joined the January 2020 Capitol riot the following year in defiance of the results of the 2020 presidential election. He has vowed to pardon his jailed supporters, calling them "January 6 hostages."

President Biden has repeatedly said publicly that he will not exercise the right to pardon his family, but has reversed his previous stance and pardoned his second son.
