Singer Baek Ji-young returned to her fans with her new mini album "Ordinary Grace" to mark the 25th anniversary of her debut. Baek Ji-young, who has been singing the pain of mournful love, has now melted the real story of her life and inner side into the album.
In a recent interview with reporters, Baek Ji-young said, "Unlike recently when I worked mainly on OSTs or singles, this album was made with sincerity for the first time in a long time. He said, "It contains more calm and solid emotions than before," and added, "I will feel more the twists and turns of life and the heart of accepting it than sad."
Baek Ji-young's album was born at her own Song Camp last year. In response, Baek Ji-young said, "I didn't particularly intend to change, but as my life changed, I naturally wanted to tell a new story. The people I worked with know me well, so many good songs came out. We focused on improving the completeness of the song," he added.
In this process, Baek Ji-young made an effort to break away from the existing musical pattern. He said, "The songs I've been singing have been stable and well-matched songs that Baek Ji-young can do. This time, I added a bit more intuitive elements. I didn't mean to, but I put in a new color," he said, expressing satisfaction.
In particular, Baek Ji-young's album title song "Yes, That's right" drew attention in collaboration with Kangta. Baek Ji-young said, "When I first heard this song and asked 'Whose song is it?' I was surprised to hear that it was Kangta's song. I wondered how we could meet each other when we got older and be together in this way. It was only up to that point. "I met him in the recording studio and gave him a polite and gentle direction," he said. "The expression 'soon' in the lyrics touched my heart." The meaning of this word was well harmonized with the process of accepting separation, and it impressed me greatly," he said.
Baek Ji-young then mentioned the verse part rather than the chorus of the song and explained, "This song feels like talking calmly beyond sadness."
In addition to Kangta, Baek Ji-young's album was completed with unexpected people helping her. Director Lee Eung-bok of the "Descendants of the Sun" and "Sweet Home" series directed the music video, and Nana played the main character of the music video. He said, "It was an honor for director Lee Eung-bok's meticulous direction and detailed expression to perfectly bring the emotions of the song to life. In the case of Nana, she expressed her gratitude, saying, "I was very willing to appear."
Baek Ji-young's mini-album, which was completed in this way, also means commemorating his 25th anniversary as mentioned earlier. When asked about the meaning of this album's work, he replied, "I put a gentle emotional line in the album beyond the curves of my life," and "I am living with the importance of this moment rather than the past or the future."
Although Baek Ji-young celebrated her 25th anniversary, Baek Ji-young expressed her desire to show a lot of things on stage now. "Watching a stage like the 50th anniversary big show made me want to be on stage for such a long time," he said. He is not aiming for such a position as a national treasure. I just want to be with music for a long time," he said, raising expectations for his future activities.
