Taekwondo Freestyle Poomsae Empress Cha Ye-eun has won two consecutive World Championships.

Cha Ye-eun won the freestyle 17-plus event at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Hong Kong.

Following the 2022 Goyang Games in Gyeonggi Province, they have won the title for the second time in a row.

Cha Ye-eun, who advanced to the final in first place, received a final score of 9.280, beating Denmark's Sandresen and U.S. Degusman by a wide margin.

In particular, Cha Ye-eun succeeded in six consecutive aerial scissor kicks, which have become more difficult since this competition due to the change in regulations, and fully performed 720 degrees behind and four consecutive kicks in the air, raising her premonition to win.

After winning the championship, Cha Ye-eun said, "It was mentally difficult because I was old and had limitations in physical strength and technical skills to do free stuff," adding, "I thought this tournament was a retirement stage, so I wanted to finish it well."

Starting with winning the 2022 Goyang World Championship, Cha Ye-eun won a gold medal in both the Chengdu World University Games and the Hangzhou Asian Games last year, achieving a grand slam in the taekwondo Poomsae field.
