The Seoul High Court has canceled the decision of the Seoul Western District Court, which suspended the validity of Yonsei University's essay examination.
The Seoul High Court made it clear that passing or failing a private school is a discretionary act that can be determined by the institution.
He stressed that even if there was a lack of response in the operation or supervision of the essay test, autonomy should still be recognized if it did not seriously damage fairness.
However, considering the average score of the test site that the essay exam questions were leaked and the lack of explanation from the examinee for the extensive leakage, it was judged that fairness did not appear to have been seriously damaged.
According to the results, Yonsei University is expected to announce the successful candidates on the 13th as scheduled as the essay exam schedule becomes possible.
Yonsei University said it will also proceed with the second test, which is scheduled to be held on the 8th, as previously announced, and will select additional successful candidates.
The test takers, who insisted on invalidating the essay test, immediately protested the court's judgment.
There is still evidence to be submitted, but the judgment of the Seoul High Court is embarrassing, and he criticized that the weight of Korea's fairness seems to be light.
Earlier, the follow-up process was suspended after the court accepted some applications for provisional injunction filed by some test-takers to suspend the effectiveness of the test in connection with the controversy over the leakage of essay questions for Yonsei University's natural sciences.
