Following the criticism of unconstitutionality and illegality surrounding the declaration of emergency martial law, the 'impeachment of the president' is being pursued.
Acting Constitutional Court President Moon Hyung-bae declined to give an immediate answer on whether the martial law declaration and decree violated the Constitution.

However, he stressed that the Constitutional Court will take the center stage and respond to the confusing situation.

[Moon Hyung-bae / Acting Constitutional Court President: I think the more confusing the political situation is, the more the constitution should work. The Constitutional Court will respond carefully, but nimble, to emergency situations.]

The court administration, which entered a late-night meeting immediately after the declaration of martial law, issued an unusual statement of position after 6 a.m.

He said he would try to protect the freedom and rights of the people as the 'last bastion' that guarantees the human rights of the people under the constitution,
When asked if there could be legal problems in the martial law process, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Korea
was cautious.

[Cho Hee-dae / Chief Justice of the Supreme Court: We need to see what procedures we went through later.]

Also, the Ministry of Justice and the prosecution, which continued the overnight emergency wait, emphasized their usual work performance.

[Park Sung-jae / Minister of Justice: I want everyone to stay cool and do something for the people. I make sure to take good care of the general affairs of the Ministry of Justice, and I have no intention of sticking to my position.]

The martial law incident ended in six hours, but legal repercussions are expected to continue for a while as a series of related complaints, lawsuits, and constitutional complaints have been announced.
