A rally calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol and a counter-rally were held at the same time near Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on the afternoon of the 12th, raising concerns about clashes.
The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the "Yoon Suk Yeol Immediately Resigns and Emergency Action for Social Reform" will hold a civic conference at Sejong-daero near Seoul City Hall Station at 2 p.m. today to demand the impeachment of President Yoon and the dissolution of the people's power.
Those who reported 20,000 people at the rally originally planned to march to the Yeouido People's Power Party, but after President Yoon's statement was announced, the march route was changed to the presidential office in Yongsan.
In response, conservative groups such as the Liberty Korea Party and the National Security Civic Association will also hold a rally against impeachment in front of Donghwa Duty Free Shop in Jongno-gu, Seoul, some 700 meters away.
