The government deliberated and voted at the Cabinet meeting today (17th) to revise the Enforcement Decree of the Employment Insurance Act, which calls for raising parental leave benefits and support for alternative workers, a low-birthrate measure announced in June.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor explained that the total amount of parental leave benefits will increase to up to 23.1 million won from next year, and up to 59.2 million won will be provided for couples if parents of children use parental leave together within 18 months of age.
