The Defense Acquisition Program Administration said it will complete the production facility for mid- and high-altitude reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (MUAVs) and begin assembly production.
The DAPA said that UAVs for mid- and high-altitude reconnaissance not only play an important role in self-defense in the eyes of the Korean military, but are also expected to be used in various fields in Korea and exported to the global market.
Korean Air's mid- and high-altitude reconnaissance drones will be delivered to our Air Force sequentially from 2027.
Kim Tae-gon, head of the DAPA's high-tech project, emphasized that the launch of assembly production of mid- and high-altitude reconnaissance drones will improve our surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities and be an important turning point in the domestic development and production system of UAVs.
