The National Assembly's impeachment prosecutors and representatives, who will take on the role of prosecutors in the Constitutional Court's impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk Yeol, said they will "make sure to complete the impeachment trial."
Chung Chung-rae, chairman of the National Assembly's Legislative and Judiciary Committee, said at a meeting of the impeachment panel held at the National Assembly, "We must do our best to fulfill the people's aspirations and fulfill their historical duties."
Rep. Lee Chun-seok of the Democratic Party, who also participated in the impeachment of former President Park Geun Hye eight years ago, said he feels a heavy responsibility to become an agent of the people beyond the National Assembly.
Rep. Park Beom-gye of the Democratic Party also pointed out that President Yoon's side is attempting a huge counterattack and that he should be nervous until the end.
Rep. Choi Ki-ki, secretary of the impeachment investigation team, met with reporters after the meeting and explained that he decided to prepare well for the Constitutional Court to restrain President Yoon if he made a forced claim for the purpose of delaying the impeachment trial.
