A meeting of operational order officers was held in Shanghai, China to respond to illegal fishing by Chinese fishing boats in our waters.
At the meeting, the issue of illegal fishing was evaluated as a major issue directly related to the livelihood of Korean fishermen as well as securing our maritime rights and interests, and discussed countermeasures for next year.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that under close cooperation between the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and local missions, it will continue to make efforts to establish operational order in our waters in the future, while also providing necessary cooperation and communication between government authorities.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions in China, as well as officials from the Korea Coast Guard and experts in the maritime sector.
