The FTC has caught artificial intelligence English learning service "Spik" for operating unfair terms and conditions, including limiting refunds for long-term subscriptions.
The Fair Trade Commission said that after reviewing the terms and conditions of using the "Spik" service, unfair provisions such as "non-refundable" were detected and corrected after 30 days of payment for subscription rights.
{픽}'Spik' has thus decided to amend the terms and conditions by deleting the relevant provisions and refunding the remainder of the total down payment minus the usage and penalty.
The Door-to-Door Sales Act stipulates that contracts that correspond to "continue transactions" should be able to terminate the subscription at any time, and that the refund of the contract price received beyond the price of the actual service supplied should not be unfairly denied.
