Kwon Sung-dong, floor leader of the People's Power Party, stressed that the Democratic Party of Korea should not appoint three candidates for the Constitutional Court recommended by the National Assembly at today's plenary session (26th).Floor leader
pointed out at a general meeting of lawmakers that the National Assembly recommends three constitutional judges to judge President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment seriously undermines the fairness of the impeachment.
He then explained that the Seoul High Court ruled that the disciplinary action was invalid when Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae filed a request for disciplinary action against the prosecutor general at the time of Yoon Suk Yeol and appointed an additional disciplinary member.
In light of such precedents, he argued that if the National Assembly pushes ahead with the appointment of a constitutional judge, the impeachment trial itself could be nullified.
The Democratic Party of Korea's push for the impeachment of acting President Han Deok-soo means that the Democratic Party will try to cover up the judicial risks of representative Lee Jae-myung with the early presidential election, adding that the government should stop its operation to devastate the state administration.
