[Weather] The extreme cold in the central 'Hanpa Special Report'...a heavy snowfall on the west coast

2024.12.27 AM 09:29
On Friday morning on my way to work, the coldness came again.

The temperature this morning in Seoul was minus 5.9 degrees Celsius, about 6 degrees lower than yesterday.

Due to the cold wind, the wind chill plunged to minus 10 degrees Celsius.

The freezing cold will continue even in the middle of the day.

Please pay special attention to keeping warm so that you don't catch a cold.

Currently, there is a 'Hanpa Warning' in the mountains of Gangwon-do,

A cold wave warning is in place for other mountains in Gangwon, northern Gyeonggi, northern Chungcheongbuk-do, and northeastern Gyeongsangbuk-do.

In these areas, temperatures dropped to around minus 10 degrees Celsius this morning.

Even in the middle of the day, the central region will stay at 1 degree in Seoul and 2 degrees in Cheongju.

There will be many places where the wind chill will stay below zero.

Along with the cold, you need to be careful with the heavy snow.

With snow currently falling on the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do and various parts of Jeollabuk-do,

From the afternoon to the night, other Chungcheong and Jeollanam-do, southwestern Gyeonggi and western Yeongnam will also be affected by snow clouds.

By tomorrow, there will be heavy snow of up to 20cm in many parts of North Jeolla Province,

A lot of snow of up to 10cm will also fall in the mountains of Chungnam, Jeonnam, and Jeju.

In particular, strong and heavy snow of around 3cm per hour is concentrated in these areas, and there is a possibility of a "heavy snow warning."

Please pay attention to icy road sliding accidents and facility management.

Snowfall will mostly stop tomorrow morning, which is the weekend, but

Chungnam and Jeonbuk regions are expected to receive another snowstorm on the holiday.

On the other hand, in the East Coast region, the wind will be strong while the 'dry special warning' continues.

Please pay attention to fire accidents such as forest fires.
