The demolition of the aerial footpath of Sewoon Shopping Center in Seoul has been confirmed.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the 6th Urban Regeneration Committee approved a plan to change the urban re-living plan around Sewoon Shopping Center.
Along with completion measures following the end of the urban regeneration project this year, the change included the demolition of 1km of public pedestrian bridges in Sewoon Shopping Center and the improvement of the walking environment on the ground.The city of
said it considered that the daily walking volume of the pedestrian bridge was only 11% of the forecast, that the lower part was not sunny, leaking, and the ground walking environment deteriorated due to the pillar.The city of
plans to first remove the steel-framed pedestrian bridge installed in the 250m section of both Sampoong Shopping Center and PJ Hotel, and remove the rest of the section in stages in connection with the shopping district park project under the Sewoon District Reorganization Promotion Plan.
At the same time, the committee also approved the "Gimpo Airport Area Urban Regeneration Revitalization Plan," which calls for making the Gimpo Airport area a new economic base in the southwestern region centered on high-tech mobility industries such as urban air transportation in connection with the urban regeneration innovation zone project.
The local economy has continued to decline due to the aging of buildings and lack of industrial functions due to development regulations based on airport facilities.With the goal of making Gimpo Airport an international business gateway hub,
City plans to link Gimpo, Magok, and Sangam, and provide funding, tax benefits, and deregulation as a "mobility industrial development promotion zone."
