Kang joined the Korea Judo Association in 2002 and built administrative skills for 23 years until he retired as the secretary last month, and has been active at home and abroad, including the executive director of the International Sports Federation and the IT manager of the Asian Judo Federation.

As the incumbent chairman Cho Yong-chul also registered as a candidate yesterday, next year's presidential election will be the first in the judo tournament.

Chairman Cho Yong-chul has been in charge of the executive department of the judo association for nearly 20 years, starting with the executive director in 2005.
