Candidate Kim Taek-woo laughed in the two-day final round of the presidential election of the Korean Medical Association.
Candidate Kim won 60.38% of the vote, beating candidate Joo Su-ho, who won 39.62%, and was elected as the 43rd president of the Korean Medical Association.
From February to April last year, during the early days of the parliamentary conflict, he headed the emergency committee of the Medical Association and led the struggle in the medical community,
He was suspended for three months for his involvement in the collective resignation of his
major.
Kim, the new chairman, said that the driver of a runaway locomotive has dropped out of the car, targeting President Yoon Suk Yeol, and that the government should stop discussing medical reform.
[Kim Taek-woo / New Chairman of the Korean Medical Association: Isn't the president standing? Then, of course, there should be no special committee directly under the president. That's why I told you to stop what was discussed there.
In addition, he demanded that 7,500 students, including new students and students on leave of absence, be able to be educated at the same time, which increased by 1,500 medical school students, and to come up with a plan first.
[Kim Taek-woo / New Chairman of the Korean Medical Association: I think the government should come up with a master plan. I think the answer to what we're going to do in 26 is only if we submit that education plan.
Chairman Kim is classified as relatively centrist compared to other candidates, but
Medical students who left school last year decided to continue their struggle for leave of absence this year,
More than 90% of the retired majors in
do not go to 211 training hospitals nationwide, and the backlash remains.
For this reason, the hard-line stance of the government is expected to be maintained for the time being under the new medical association led by Chairman Kim.
