North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent a congratulatory message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who celebrated his 72nd birthday, the Korean Central News Agency reported.

In congratulating him at the festival, Kim said that the upcoming reunions and camaraderie will further solidify the later years of strategic cooperation on a new full-scale development trajectory and contribute to the protection of world peace and international justice.

He added that he believes Putin will lead Russia on a path of victory and glory, reaffirming our full and selfless support and solidarity with the Russian military and people's feats of justice.

Chairman Kim called President Putin the friendliest comrade at the beginning and end of the celebration, which contrasts with the expression in the celebration sent to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 6th, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between North Korea and China.
