President Yoon Suk Yeol said that the relationship between Korea and China is becoming a relationship that pursues mutual respect and common interests based on international norms.
President Yoon, who is on a tour of Southeast Asia, made the remarks during a Q&A session after speaking at the Singapore Lecture today (9).
China also said that although it has a history of helping North Korea and fighting South Korean troops, it is an important country for South Korea from a future-oriented perspective, not buried in the past.
At the same time, as the Korea-Japan-China summit resumed in May, China's Prime Minister Li Chang also visited South Korea, and cooperation is strengthening as Korea-China relations are restored.
