There is a job where you can make a lot of money abroad. The number of South Koreans affected by the so-called "high-yield" overseas employment bait and imprisonment there has increased nearly 50 times in two years. In particular, fraud damage is rampant in Southeast Asia.Let's talk to Jo Ji-yeon, a member of the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee, who raised this issue. Senator, are you out?

[Jo Jiyeon]
Yes, nice to meet you. I'm Jo Ji-yeon, the power of the people.

[Anchor]
How are you? In Southeast Asia, there are more and more cases of exploiting the dreams of young people using overseas employment and high profits, especially in which areas are crime and damage cases concentrated?

[Jo Jiyeon]
In the case of illegal employment fraud abroad, it is concentrated in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and the so-called Golden Triangle, and this year alone, as many as 96 victims of illegal employment fraud abroad have been confirmed.

[Anchor]
As you said, the damage situation is clearly revealed by the figures. Is there a particular reason for this increase in damage recently?

[Jo Jiyeon]
There are many factors.Ma must have heard a lot of news that the number of young people who have given up on finding jobs has increased rapidly, but many young people are looking for jobs through online Internet recruitment sites. The fact that false exaggerated advertisements with high profits are posted there seems to be a need for our government to strengthen monitoring in the future.

[Anchor]
Senator, as you just said, young people are mainly accessing job-related announcements on the Internet, what are you mainly being misled by? It's related to money, right?

[Jo Jiyeon]
Most of them are attracting young people because they can earn high profits in a short period of time, but when I checked a large job site yesterday, some places advertise up to 50 million won per month. Therefore, not only overseas employment but also domestic workplaces have been found to advertise false and exaggerated advertisements centered on high profits.

[Anchor]
50 million won per month. I wonder if there is any legal problem with such false advertisements and false advertisements appearing on job search sites. Is government-level management in place?

[Jo Jiyeon]
First of all, the government is required to operate a separate reporting center for false advertisements and request an investigation into businesses suspected of violating the law. However, in the current recruitment process law, it seems necessary to revise such laws to strengthen legal measures by simply imposing fines when violating this law, and I think the Fair Employment Act, which is currently being prepared by the government and the government, should be drafted quickly and revised.

[Anchor]
It seems necessary to strengthen punishment. And today is the second day of the Environment and Labor Commission's national audit. If you have any additional pending issues you are looking at, what would they be?

[Jo Jiyeon]
The problem of overdue wages is very serious. It is worth nearly 1 trillion won, and there is a payment system in which the state pays first when wages are delayed and the employer receives reimbursement after the fact. But the recovery rate is only 30%, so I also proposed a bill.Ma plans to point out that there is a need to change the civil execution procedure to the national tax arrears procedure.

[Anchor]
As you said, I hope it will lead to a policy change that the people can feel with their skin. This has been Rep. Jo Ji-yeon, the power of the people. Gentleman, thank you for your words today.

[Jo Jiyeon]
Thank you. I will do my best to be a public official.
