A day before the pre-voting for the October 16 by-elections to select four heads of local governments, the Democratic Party of Korea and three other opposition parties focused their party power on re-election in Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do.

Chairman Lee Jae-myung, who has been campaigning intensively for two days and one night to support Democratic Party candidate Jang Se-il since last evening, appealed to the government to join forces so that the rental struggle does not falter.

Cho Kuk, chairman of the Innovation Party, moved to Yeonggwang after a parliamentary audit in the morning to support Jang Hyun of the same party, while Kim Jae-yeon, chairman of the Progressive Party, also traveled around the county all day to encourage Lee Seok-ha's support.
