Lee Jae-myung said, "North Korea should stop trying to fortify the military demarcation line."

Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said he calls for North Korea to immediately withdraw its fortification work that will cut roads and railroads connecting to South Korea around the military demarcation line.

Lee told the Supreme Council that the endless confrontations not only hurt inter-Korean relations but also are likely to turn both Koreas into losers.

"We hope that North Korea will immediately stop spraying filth balloons after realizing that there is nothing to gain from provocations," he said, stressing that no matter how much they declare, the two Koreas will never be two separate countries.

He also pointed out that the South Korean government should actively seek dialogue instead of keeping pace with the chicken game played by North Korea.
