While the parliamentary audit has been underway for four days today (11th), the battle between the ruling and opposition parties is getting fiercer.

The ruling party protested that the opposition party was exaggerating the impeachment bill for "Lee Jae-myung Bangtan," and the opposition party even summoned the case of former President Park Geun Hye's impeachment, expressing Kim Gun-hee as a non-presidential heavyweight.

I'm connecting you with a reporter from the National Assembly. Reporter Kim Dayeon!

There is a fierce battle at the parliamentary audit today, right?

[Reporter]
In the morning, the Legislation and Judiciary Committee conducted a parliamentary audit of the Constitutional Court.

As the impeachment trial proceeds at the Constitutional Court, the ruling party took issue with the opposition's overuse of the prosecution's impeachment and eventually made it an issue to pressure the prosecutor who investigated representative Lee Jae-myung.

He also pointed out that the confrontation between the ruling and opposition parties delayed the appointment of a successor to the Constitutional Court, which also urged the Constitutional Court to actively speak out as a prolonged suspension of prosecutors creates a work gap.

[Kwak Kyu-taek / National People's Power: The biggest feature of the 22nd National Assembly regarding the Constitutional Court is that it can be summarized as an instrument of political strife for impeachment. The prosecutor, who investigated the corruption of representative Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party of Korea, is first proposed to impeach him.]

On the other hand, the opposition party asked whether the suspicion of intervening in the nomination of Kim Gun-hee and the receipt of luxury bags could be grounds for impeachment of the president.

In particular, he expressed Kim as a non-presidential power and raised the level of the offensive, saying that the reason for former President Park Geun Hye's impeachment is likely to apply to President Yoon Suk Yeol.

[Seo Young-kyo / Minjoo Party Member: I speak openly these days. Isn't sovereignty coming from Kim Gun-hee? First lady Kim Gun-hee intervenes in personnel affairs, intervenes in nominations, and the president is supporting and shooting from the side.]

The Board of Education's parliamentary inspection even filed a complaint against non-present witnesses.

Since the morning meeting before the parliamentary audit, there has been a fierce off-the-shelf battle over witnesses.

In particular, the ruling party strongly criticized the opposition party, saying that it was not enough to adopt witnesses as it liked, and that it was also overusing the right to accompany them to force them to call in.

[Choo Kyung-ho / People's Power Floor Leader: Please keep in mind that what the people are ordering from the big opposition party is not excessive authority to accompany them, but to face the fact that they are suspects and to promptly respond to prosecutors' investigation to pay for their sins.]

The Democratic Party of Korea, which is on an intensive offensive against Kim Gun-hee's allegations, repeatedly pressured her to attend, saying that the parliamentary audit was hindered by the absence of witnesses.

[Park Chan-dae / Minjoo Party floor leader: Witnesses related to Kim Gun-hee are ignoring the National Assembly. [Kim Gun-hee, the most powerful figure in the government, seems to be for bulletproof purposes only]

I'll also look into the situation here.

Within the ruling party, there are voices of discontent within the party over Chairman Han Dong-hoon's remarks targeting First Lady Kim Gun-hee, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, after yesterday's top committee meeting, representative Han emphasized the "public eye level" of the prosecution's investigation into the alleged involvement of Kim Gun-hee in stock price manipulation.

On the heightened level of remarks, Rep. Chin Dong-hoon-gye explained in a phone call with YTN that there will be by-elections in the future, and considering the judgment and sentiment of the people, he seems to have seen this as the limit.

On the other hand, pro-Yoon-gye immediately protested.

In a phone call with YTN, a senior lawmaker said, "I don't know if Han is an ally or an enemy," and pointed out that if this is the case, the party and the government will annihilate.

In an SBS radio interview, Kang Seung-gyu said, "I don't understand how the ruling party leader, who also served as the justice minister, says that."

[Kang Seung-gyu / Member of the People's Power (SBS Radio 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show'): How can the representative of the ruling party, who is the Minister of Justice, make a public opinion trial based on the feelings of the people? I don't know what (the lady) did so wrong. He was victimized by political maneuvering.]

The Democratic Party of Korea is attacking the special prosecutor, saying that the prosecution is not investigating, so it is pushing for a special prosecutor.

Supreme Council member Kim Min-seok pressed the special prosecutor to accept the special prosecutor, saying at the morning meeting that it was obvious that a representative would reverse his position after just ringing.

[Kim Min-seok / Supreme Council member of the Minjoo Party of Korea: They discuss self-restraint and even raise the prosecution's indictment of Kim with the mouth of their aides, but it is clear that they will end up turning the tables as if they went away like in the case of the independent counsel for the third party of the marines. If that happens again, it'll be "Kan Dong-hoon."]

We will also look at the by-elections in five days. Early voting started today, right?

[Reporter]
Early voting began at 6 a.m. today (11th) to select the Seoul Superintendent of Education, the head of Busan Geumjeong-gu Office, the head of Ganghwa County in Incheon, and Yeonggwang and Gokseong counties in Jeollanam-do.

According to the early voting rate for local government heads alone, as of 1:30 p.m., Seoul was 1.49%; Busan was 4.63%; Incheon was 8.20%; and Jeonnam was 14.17%.

The People's Power is aiming to win in Ganghwa, Incheon, and Geumjeong, Busan, which are strong areas.

In the case of Geumjeong, Busan, the unification of opposition candidates is considered the biggest variable, and in Ganghwa, Incheon, independent candidates are considered the biggest variables.

The Democratic Party of Korea, which seeks to reverse the situation, will continue its campaign in Busan today, and Lee Jae-myung will visit Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do.

Yeonggwang and Gokseong in Jeollanam-do are the traditional support base of the Democratic Party, but in the case of Yeonggwang, it is interpreted as a move that takes into account the rapid rise of candidates from the Progressive Party.
